How to recite the Shahada in English and Arabic

To become a Muslim you need to recite the “Shahada”

First let’s understand what’s the meaning of the word “Shahada”

The word “Shahada” means “The testimony of faith”

The “Shahada” is two parts

The first part is to testify: “that there is no God except Allah

You believe that there is only One God, “Allah”. He alone is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. He alone is without partners, children or associates. He is the Most Merciful, the Most Wise, and the Most Just.

The second part is to testify: “that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is his servant and messenger

Now let’s recite the “Testimony of faith” in the English language…. Then in the Arabic language

Now…recite (pronounce) the following words:

“I bear witness that there is no God except Allah And I bear witness that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His servant and messenger”

Now let’s recite the “Testimony of faith” in the Arabic language:

Ash‐hadu anlaa ilaaha ill‐Allah, wa ash‐hadu anna Muhammadan rasulu ilah

Congratulations! You are now a Muslim
